Chris HUEN Sin Kan’s paintings focus mainly on depicting his family. His wife Haze, son Joel, daughter Tess and their dogs Balltsz, MuiMui and Doodood are rendered in everyday environments and interior scenes. With a technique he developed from the influence of Chinese ink painting, he depicts multi-faceted viewpoints of the mundane. Distorted shapes and the contrasting light illustrate the transition of the day from various perspectives to captivate the viewer. The shifting process of recognition and the private cosmos within a “room” leads viewers to discover luminous alternative perception. This is especially true when people have been forced to face interior spaces during the several quarantines through the global pandemic.

Chris HUEN Sin-Kan ศิลปินผู้พำนักในฮ่องกง สร้างสรรค์ผลงานจิตรกรรมที่ให้ความสำคัญกับครอบครัว ซึ่งประกอบไปด้วยภรรยาชื่อเฮซ (Haze) ลูกชายโจเอล (Joel) ลูกสาวเทส (Tess) และสุนัขชื่อบอลส์ (Balltsz) มุยมุย (MuiMui) และ ดูดู๊ด (Doodood) ศิลปินแสดงภาพครอบครัวท่ามกลางสภาพแวดล้อมในชีวิตประจำวันและเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นภายในอาคาร โดยใช้เทคนิคที่พัฒนาขึ้นจากอิทธิพลภาพวาดหมึกจีน เพื่อแสดงภาพหลากหลายของชีวิตประจำวันผ่านมุมมองสามัญ
รูปร่างอันบิดเบี้ยวและแสงซึ่งตัดกัน แสดงให้เห็นถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงในแต่ละช่วงเวลา ผ่านมุมมองหลายหลากอันทำให้ผู้ชมหลงใหล กระบวนการจดจำรับรู้ที่ถูกเคลื่อนย้ายไปมา และจักรวาลรโหฐานภายใน “ห้อง” นำพาผู้ชมให้ค้นพบการตระหนักรู้อันแจ่มชัด โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง หลังจากที่ถูกบังคับให้ต้องเผชิญหน้ากับพื้นที่ภายในบ้าน ระหว่างการกักตัวหลายต่อหลายครั้งจากโรคระบาดครั้งใหญ่ของโลก
