Reset Moments is a new performative installation by Nile Koetting presented on the 4th-floor balcony at the Rajamangala University Technology of Isan. This airport lounge-like installation includes a cutting-edge technology that generates water from the venue’s atmosphere in real-time to constantly hydrate and revitalize plants, objects, and visitors.

While monitors display abstract flight timetables that are constantly being canceled, traveler-like performers show several types of movements resembling “waiting” behaviors. The performative exhibition of passing the time examines inner psychological logic how the notion of killing time could be reactivated. This focus is inspired by the actual situation of flights that have been endlessly canceled during the current the global pandemic. It invites the audience into a post-Beckettian time and space, revealing a new performative mode and feeling.  In a declined globalized time-space, bodies, objects, and time are suspended, floated, and extended. Populations have inevitably been forced by the stress of uncertain procrastination throughout the pandemic. Koetting’s installation reveals an alternative method to detoxify our minds and bodies through the unique artistic language of sustainability.

รีเซต โมเมนต์ เป็นผลงานจัดวางและแสดงสดชุดใหม่โดย ไนล์ โคททิง บนระเบียงชั้น 4 ของมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลอีสาน มันถูกออกแบบให้มีลักษณะคล้ายห้องรับรองในสนามบิน มีเครื่องทำน้ำดื่มที่ใช้เทคโนโลยีล้ำสมัย ซึ่งสามารถผลิตน้ำจากบรรยากาศรอบ ๆ แบบเรียลไทม์ได้ นอกจากนี้ ยังช่วยให้ความชุ่มชื้นฟื้นฟูพืชพรรณ ข้าวของ และบรรดาผู้เยี่ยมชมไม่ขาดสาย มีจอภาพแสดงตารางเที่ยวบินจำลองที่ถูกยกเลิกอยู่เรื่อย ๆ รวมถึงนักแสดงผู้สวมบทบาทนักเดินทางคอยเคลื่อนไหวด้วยท่วงท่าคล้ายคลึงกับพฤติกรรมการ “รอ” ของพวกเรา ผลงานชุดนี้ตรวจสอบตรรกะทางจิตวิทยาของตัวมันเอง ในฐานะนิทรรศการศิลปะแสดงสดที่ว่าด้วยการใช้เวลาให้ผ่านไปและจะฆ่าเวลาอย่างไรให้มีชีวิตชีวา ศิลปินได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากสถานการณ์จริงซึ่งเที่ยวบินต่างถูกยกเลิกอย่างไม่สิ้นสุดในช่วงไวรัสระบาด ผลงานเชื้อเชิญผู้ชมเข้าสู่ห้วงเวลา และพื้นที่แบบหลังเบ็คเก็ตเชียน (Post-Beckettian Time) ซึ่งเผยให้เห็นโหมดการแสดงและความรู้สึกแบบใหม่ในกาลเทศะแบบโลกาภิวัตน์ซึ่งร่างกาย วัตถุ เวลา ล้วนหยุดนิ่ง ต่างล่องลอยเรื่อยเปื่อยและยืดยาวออกไป ผู้คนล้วนถูกบีบคั้นอย่างมิอาจหลีกเลี่ยงจากความตึงเครียดอันเกิดขึ้นจากความไม่แน่นอนอันไร้จุดจบของการแพร่ระบาด ผลงานจัดวางของโคททิง จึงเผยให้เห็นแนวทางในการชำระล้างทั้งร่างกายและจิตใจผ่านภาษาศิลปะแห่งความยั่งยืนอันมีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตน
