Thailand Biennale Korat, 2021 commission

The public announcement system of six villages in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand, is broadcasting birdsongs and sounds of local bird species interpreted by human bird imitators. The species include the oriental magpie-robin, the white-rumped shama, the zebra dove, the common iora, the Eurasian tree sparrow, the golden-fronted leafbird, the Eurasian hoopoe, the plaintive cuckoo, the greater coucal, the common tailorbird, the yellow-eyed babbler, the red-whiskered bulbul, and others. The broadcasts of these more-than-human songs takes place twice a day, in morning and late afternoon, throughout the exhibition period. The art intervention by artist Olafur Eliasson was made in collaboration with the bird imitators, Ronnakorn Thientongtaworn and Venus Janrew, and the local birds.

ระบบเสียงตามสายใน 6 หมู่ของอำเภอพิมายจะกระจายเสียงเพลงนกร้อง และ เสียงร้องของนกประจำถิ่น ที่แสดงโดยนักเลียนเสียงนก สายพันธุ์นกประจำถิ่นที่ออกอากาศได้แก่ นกกางเขนบ้าน นกกางเขนดง นกเขาชวา นกขมิ้นน้อยธรรมดา นกกระจอกบ้าน นกเขียวก้านตองหน้าผากเหลือง นกกะรางหัวขวาน นกอีวาบตั๊กแตน นกกระปูดใหญ่ นกกระจิบธรรมดา นกกินแมลงตาเหลือง นกปรอดหัวโขน รวมไปถึงสายพันธุ์อื่นๆ โดยจะกระจายเสียงของเพลงที่มากกว่ามนุษย์นี่จะเกิดขึ้นเป็นเวลาสองครั้งต่อวัน คือในเวลาเช้าและเย็น ตลอดเทศกาลเบียนนาเล่ ผลงานการแทรกแซงทางศิลปะ ผลงานการแทรกแซงทางศิลปะนี้เป็นของศิลปิน โอลาเฟอร์ เอเลียสสัน ที่ทำร่วมกับนักเลียนเสียงนก รณกร เทียนทองถาวร, วีนัส จั่นริ้ว และนกในท้องถิ่น
