The Truth Lies in Fact by Singaporean artist Yanyun Chen retains the classical charcoal aesthetics of her past works. However, she is currently including artificial 

plastic and silk flowers. The fake flowers, that will not die, are mingled amongst withering real flowers in this drawing. It asks the viewer to consider the difficulties in defining truth from fiction, fact from representation. This concept is in response to the passing of the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Bill (POFMA) in Singapore on 8th of May, 2019. This bill was passed to tackle deliberate online falsehoods and to promote transparency. It allows any Minister to instruct Competent Authority to issue a Directive on any false statement of fact made on a person, whether the person is in or outside of Singapore. If a person is capable of claiming a statement delivered as false or true, the statement must be beyond any form of representation and beyond writing, reading, seeing, perceiving. The works chase their artificiality into the digital realm in a collaboration with visual effects and CG specialist Alex Scollay. Through visuals and sounds, Furious Fires releases pent up energies in response to the tensions of contemporary pandemic living, juxtaposing bodily sounds with natural phenomenon photographed and collected from forests.

สัจจะอยู่ในข้อ (เท็จ) จริง โดยศิลปินชาวสิงคโปร์ หยานหยุน เฉิน ยังคงรักษาสุนทรียภาพแบบคลาสสิกของถ่านกัมมันต์จากผลงานในอดีต เธอได้เพิ่มดอกไม้ที่ทำจากพลาสติกและไหมไว้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงานด้วย ดอกไม้ปลอมที่ไม่มีวันตายจะปะปนอยู่ท่ามกลางดอกไม้จริงที่เหี่ยวเฉา ตั้งคำถามกับผู้ชมให้พิจารณาความยากลำบากในการแยกแยะความจริงจากเรื่องที่แต่งขึ้น หรือข้อเท็จจริงจากข้อคิดเห็น แนวคิดนี้เป็นการโต้ตอบการผ่านร่างกฎหมายการป้องกันการหลอกลวงและปลุกปั่นทางออนไลน์ (Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Bill (POFMA)) ในสิงคโปร์เมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤษภาคม ค.ศ. 2019 ร่างกฎหมายนี้เขียนขึ้นมาเพื่อจัดการกับความเท็จที่เจตนาสร้างขึ้นในโลกออนไลน์และเพื่อส่งเสริมความโปร่งใส โดยอนุญาตให้รัฐมนตรีคนใดคนหนึ่งสั่งให้เจ้าหน้าที่ผู้มีอำนาจออกคำสั่งเกี่ยวกับข้อความเท็จจริงของบุคคลใดบุคคลหนึ่ง ไม่ว่าบุคคลนั้นจะอยู่ในหรือนอกสิงคโปร์ก็ตาม หากบุคคลสามารถอ้างได้ว่าข้อความที่ส่งไปนั้นเป็นเท็จหรือจริง ข้อความนั้นต้องอยู่นอกเหนือรูปแบบการเป็นตัวแทนใด ๆ และนอกเหนือไปจากการเขียน การอ่าน การเห็น การรับรู้

ผลงานชุดนี้ขับไล่สิ่งปลอมๆ ของพวกเขาเข้าสู่โลกดิจิทัลโดยศิลปินร่วมมือกับอเล็กซ์ สคอลเลย์ (Alex Scollay) ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านวิชวลเอ็ฟเฟ็กต์และคอมพิวเตอร์กราฟิก ไฟแค้น ปลดปล่อยพลังงานที่ถูกกักขังเพื่อตอบสนองต่อความตึงเครียดของการดำรงชีวิตท่ามกลางภาวะโรคระบาดในปัจจุบัน ผ่านการเทียบเคียงเสียงของร่างกายและภาพถ่ายปรากฏการณ์ทางธรรมชาติที่รวบรวมได้จากผืนป่า
