Talking God is a semi-outdoor site-specific installation by PNAT, a multidisciplinary think tank based in Florence. The collective consists of plant scientists and designers. It is led by Professor Stefano Mancuso, one of the world’s leading botanists. PNAT has been crossing over and challenging the boundary between botanical science and contemporary art. Talking God revisits the ancient animistic perspective of the world through the lenses of science. The artist set up electronic sensors at a banyan tree in Wat Phayap, a Buddhist temple located at the city centre. The sensors will receive signals from the tree and transmit them into the pavilion at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan. The pavilion, which is surrounded by tropical greenery and foliage, would illuminate. The light gives voice to the banyan tree; let’s reconnect with our nonhuman relatives with the assistance of science.

Talking God คือผลงานจัดวางกึ่งกลางแจ้ง สร้างสรรค์โดยพีแนท กลุ่มผู้เชี่ยวชาญสหสาขาวิชาชีพจากเมืองฟลอเรนซ์ ศิลปินกลุ่มนี้ประกอบด้วยนักพฤกษศาสตร์และนักออกแบบ นำโดยศาสตราจารย์สเตฟาโน มันคูโซ (Stefano Mancuso) หนึ่งในนักพฤกษศาสตร์ชั้นนำของโลก พีแนทได้พยายามก้าวข้ามขอบเขตทีท้าทายซึ่งกั้นระหว่างพฤกษศาสตร์กับศิลปะร่วมสมัย Talking God เป็นการกลับไปทบทวนคติความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์และพลังอำนาจเหนือธรรมชาติผ่านมุมมองทางวิทยาศาสตร์ โดยศิลปินได้ทำการติดตั้งเซนเซอร์ไฟฟ้าไว้ที่ต้นไทรต้นหนึ่งในวัดพายัพใจกลางเมืองนครราชสีมา เซนเซอร์เหล่านี้จะรับสัญญาณที่ผลิตจากตัวต้นไทรและส่งต่อไปยังศาลาที่คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์และศิลปกรรมสร้างสรรค์ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลอีสาน ตัวศาลารายล้อมไปด้วยพืชพรรณและไม้ใบเขตร้อนจะส่องสว่างขึ้น วงจรนี้ให้เสียงกับต้นไทร เชิญชวนให้ผู้ชมติดต่อกับเครือญาติที่ไม่ใช่มนุษย์อีกครั้งหนึ่งจากความช่วยเหลือจากวิทยาศาสตร์
